alocolic environment.
In modern today one can find a huge varities of alcohol brands and tobbaco stuffs, wrapped in gaily, but it doesn't mean that people should stick themselvse with these life sucking things. There is no way out to bring up any sorts of development related to various facets in education, social, economic, etc. in the environment where there is a little or no difference between alocohol and water, and tobbaco(supari) and food, rather these[developments] would be settled down in corner of 'pollutant- dust bin'.But,unfortunatly, this sort of killing environment is looking for a big market to surge up it's popularity in our state,i mean numbers of user plung up like anything, isn't it bad?
All nkows, Alcohol ruins everything that, comes in it's way. It says 'kids are the future of tommorrow' and 'youths are the backbone' but it would be left behind nothing more than just funny proverbs.According to my own assessment(not scaled), i think more than 80% of the total population of t read more »

I would like to place my view and object on the proposed 12 hour capital band by All Kurung Kumey Student Union on 29 of july. Though the matter may pertain directly with KK district and indirectly with the state corruption, there are many other ways of expressing your grievance in a democratic way as capital bandh call is not only the option. Every now and then capital Bandh call not only harasses the government but also the innocent public in general of whole state and particularly the resident of the capital. The matter directly pertains to KK district and so if at all AKKSU want a bandh call, it should be of their own district and not the capital. There are 16 districts in Arunachal and if all the district student union and other districts organisation starts calling capital bandh then there wont be a single day when capital be open. If at all capital bandh is necessary it should be under the straight name of AAPSU or ANSU or APPDSU or any state level organisation and not district level. The cause may b read more »

For a longtime time I carried along with me the unwelcoming feelings of names given to public properties.

I wanted to reach out my point of view to all Arunachalis, but for Arunachalnews.com, it would not have been possible. Thanks to Arunachalnews team.

Well, what I am trying to reflect is the Ganga Lake and for that matter, others as well.

Ganga Lake is actually “Gekar Sinyi” which I believe is a Nyishi connotation. But to many of us Ganga Lake is more common. Why? This is because of the media and the government’s apathy towards local people. How and when did Ganga originate there? Ganga as I know is a holy river in U.P and names of some people.

To me Gekar Sinyi is more than a mere name. Just a peek into it, you will find that there is a history associated with it. I feel I am a part of it. The Nyishis never heard about the name Ganga before the Hindi was introduced.

Likewise there is Ganga Market, Akash Dip, Rajiv Gandhi Univ. and Gandhis and Gandhis and the list goes own.

I wonder if read more »

Ok, many of you may not know him, but from this moment on you will. Dr. Joram Beda cleared the UPSC CSE. I don't know the technical way of putting it, but he's an IAS officer now. Quite a feat of achievement. I believe there are only a couple of IAS (UPSC CSE) officers from Arunachal.

Maybe this is old news? I am not sure. But I got the word about it just a few hours ago. So.

Congrats Dr. Beda, we are proud of you! read more »

CALCUTTA, India -- Indian military and civil authorities used speed boats to ferry food and drinking water to hundreds of thousands of villagers cut off by monsoon floods that have killed at least 27 people in the past week, officials said Wednesday.

Commuters make their way through a flooded street after heavy rainfall in the northern Indian city of Mathura June 17, 2008. The monsoon arrived at least two weeks early in northern India, bringing respite to its baking plains, but in Assam it swamped about 500 villages in waist-deep water, leaving about 300,000 people homeless. Local authorities also sought to use air force helicopters to drop supplies to more than 50,000 people stranded in nearly 200 villages in West Bengal state where the flooded Keleghai river has cut off road links, said Kalyan Mitra, a district official. The affected villages in West Midnapore district are about 170 kilometers (105 miles) west of Calcutta, the capital of West Bengal state.
