Galo Welfare Society Launches Website
The Galo Welfare Society (GWS), “A Society for the upliftment of Galo Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh” has launched their website at www.galogws.in – link.
Good to see an IT initiate from our locals. We wish the GWS all the very best, may their endeavors be fruitful and beneficial to the society.

Thanks to all executive members of GWS. Always we felt the necessary of interference of GWS like Pale incident, Lower Siang creation. Or many untold happening around us. I personally feel that Long Live of GWS wil empact great to us……..,

I appreciate the members GWS for Galo official website but request not to misuse the website and checkup any article which touch the sentiment of Galo members specially the definition of “Galos” mentioned in a article merely on rituals..Mopin…etc. May I Know where are those Christian Galos placed in the GWS ? Aren’t they member of Galo GWS because of Christian religion ?.Hope GWS will bring transformation in better perspective in many areas such as language,social evils etc. I am to inform that Shri Talo Kadu Ex-MLA is still alive. Kindly make necessary correction.

well mr joy koyu why dont you first brief the meaning of “christian galo”. galo is a community, a community of people like us, decedents of TANI and who follows donyi polo. we are in no mood to change our custom to accommodate christian.

Guys, in this photo http://galogws.in/images/cdanceb.JPG I can see some people wearing pudum (the olden Subansiri hairstyle). Are they some Nyishi/Apatani people or did Galos use to wear pudum too?

we shouldn’t neglect any one….in case of me m very different and typical. i am very much in touch with galo my own culture than the any other, i dont have to explain and brag about myself being a christian. even i am a christian i am very strict when we talk about our culture and custom, because that is our identity, being a christian doesnt mean that to forget your own custom,and celebrate our mopin with great enthusiasm, we are the descendents of TANI…and we’ll be always….

CONGRATULATION to New Executive members of GWS. It is my sincere appeal to GWS Executive Members to focus on development of education sector. Through this, i would like to highlight the worst condition of Boys Hostels (Hirik Block) Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Aalo, till now no maintainance work initiated. You Cant imgaine the how worst it is!
Hope GWS will highlight problems of Govt. Schools of Galo dominated areas in Government Level and work for upliftment of society.

yes it should be basar..cos its near AALO Plus very safe…place far from the border of assam ..which will help in developing the lower siang if created…. and likabali is not fit cos it lies in the border where developmnt is less but the border (land) quarrel goes on….thus it will instead hamper the developmnt that will come…..in the lower siang……well..i dont about the others but in my opinion it should be BASAR.
now lets see what others think……………
and i welcome mr.onlineAP( sorry i dnt know ur kind name)… i am also a galo christian..but i have celebrated mopin frm my childhood..and we should think 1st we are galo than the later comes….even my dad doesnt celebtre mopin but i do insist him…. why do we listen those missionaries who come from other place…in our region witthin our locals..creating differenciation in mind..creating lots of problem….

Uhhh! basar-lowr siang dist hq?? if it is, it would be almost meaningless 4 the people of ramle bango(especially koyu area). u can imagine the distance-koyu-nari-basar.Let the remote areas of nari-koyu,likabali-gensi be given chance to uplift. further, there is no COMPULSION that basar should be included in the lowr siang district.BETTER IF BASAR REMAIN IN WEST SIANG DISTRICT.

ya..because of this religion issues among Galo’s there are differentiation among us.let them follow any religion but the one who is following any religion..they should also think about our traditional..
i really appreciate you for insisting you dad and if you can tell to other Christian galo’s.for me you are the first Christian Galo who thinks about this and about our MOPIN..

yeah i think there is no need to create lowersiang… it will create seperation in mentally of some galo commuunity i think so….we shoulld be united and think for whole galo instead of thinking he is pugo, lare, or some from karka..and all…….we are galo man!!!
ok i know the lower siang will develop the nari-koyu-plus likabali area i appreciate that but i dont want west siang to be seprated…its so good and our district is one of vast district in arunachal and well known…..so better it dont seperate…..now what others say……………

CONGRATULATIONS to New Executive members of GWS!Also the outgoing GWS executive members. They have done a tremendous job for which they deserve appreciations. we hope that the new GWS will work towards improving the lot of our people ESPECIALLY STUDENTS. The Galo students are now lagging in education. We need to start from basics again so that more toppers are produced again from our area. Hope New GWS will think n act over it.

i am very unfortunate to say that why creation of Lower siang is so late, are you thinkin that comprise of nari-koyu, likabali and gensi is not deserving place for HQ. without knowing the vastness of the area, need of administration and the problem of inhabit, please stop comment on this site.

in the galo geneological list, the Karga clan is mentioned but its sister/neighbour clan Kara is not listed. they are the sizeable chunk of gutsy galos of upper subansiri distt. & inner gensi area of west siang, consisting of such titles as kena, ralen, nyokir, haji, haider etc.hope the concerned person(s) shall add it.

WITHIN OUR GALO AREA BASAR IS DEVELOPED AND WELL COMMUNICATED WITH AALO AND IS NEARBY AALO.IT TAKES HARDLY 3 OR 4 HOURS TO REACH AALO FROM BASAR. THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS BESIDE LIKABALI i,e, GENSI,DARI,KOYU,NARI,TELAM AND SOMEWHERE AROUND LIKABALI ..ETC. KNOWING THE BASIC PROBLEMS OF FOOTHILL AREA AND ALL THE COMFORT OF BASAR HOW ONE CAN EASILY SAY THAT BASAR IS OK FOR DIST. HQ.

Galo Chritians are those who follow and practice the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ,who was born in Bethlehem Jerusalem(Luke2:6) which is in Asia according to Bible.Therefore,Christians are not slave of Whiteman nor any Galo Christian need to go America.Let us encourage GWS-Integration Committee,working on formulating modalities to involve the Kargu Gamgi and Holy Churches in the Galo Society.Please think and invest your Wisdom on this line.Thanks

If Lower Siang District is required to be created,the best place for HQ is LUKIKAMYA under NARI-KOYU. This will not only explore vast barren land but also equally accessible distance from all corners.The main purpose of District Creation is to solve the Border problem with Assam.So somewhere Nari-Koyu area is best for HQ of prposed District. Can it be possible ? That EVERY GALO CHILDREN SPEAKS IN GALO AT HOME WITH FAMILY MEMBER COMFORTABLY.My suggestion are :1. Encourage yourself and speak only Galo with Children and influence Galo songs,CD,commics,Cartoons etc.
2.Dont be too busy leaving your children at the mercy of Didi/Helper.
3.Children those who are at Boarding School also be encourage to speak Galo during vacation. Visit/Leave the children with your Grandma/father in village for somedays.

Galo Christian do not isolate from any body but they obey the commands of Bible wherein it forbids taking part in Idol worship (Exodus 20:4-6).Jesus Christ was sacrificed once and for all. No need of animal blood for redemption nor worship the EVIL anymore. Galo Christian celebrate Mopin as the year of Harvesting and thanksgiving….to the Creator God, Soverign Lord of Heaven and Earth.Its a question of Believe and faith not the Hatred against anybody.

I agree with Jumpe and Bom….I would also suggest and encourage marriage system within community and bride from other community may also be corporately encouraged to learn on priority.

I think Mizo’s have much better than us.Do you Know Mizoram Literacy 88.49 %( Second Highest in Country). I studied at Aizawl and know Mizo people,they never regretted to be Christian rather proud of those Missionary.Be cool and mind ur language..

news GWS >……..They galo welfare socity is presently touring galo dominated area. today the 7th march 2010,a meeting was held at Gumin Kine Mopin Dere aalo and addressed by President Mrs jarjum Ete,she appealed all people to do work for improvement in the education sector. shri Tomo gamlin and Shri kengam Ete takes over as president and secretary of west Siang District GWS.

its is very nice 2 heard dats they(GWS) tour our village n gave emphasis on education sector.but only commentary by standing on the dias is rather much bring improvement on his sector.coz education sector is also one of the most corrupted field.so strict vigiance of infrastructure devlopments funds,teachers attendence,teaching methology,regular training of oudated teacher,meeting of parents n students,teacher student n GWS interaction session must be needed.

In the advent of MOPIN Festival,preaperation for celebrations are already started in differant part of state including in the colleges of different parts of india.However many students in the college donot even know the lyrics and tune of mopin anthem,instead they go on singing english or asamess songs which is very unfortunate .please arrange and upload the correct tune and lyrics of mopin anthem in our galo web site so that the uniformaty of anthem is maintain through out the world during celebrations.Dr jego ori.RIMS.Manipur
