Galo Welfare Society Launches Website
The Galo Welfare Society (GWS), “A Society for the upliftment of Galo Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh” has launched their website at www.galogws.in – link.
Good to see an IT initiate from our locals. We wish the GWS all the very best, may their endeavors be fruitful and beneficial to the society.
It is nice to learnt that the Galo students who are successful in the recently held JEE are going to be feliciated by our society.It is indeed a good gustures by our senior members of the society.It will be more encouragement for the school principal and teachers if govt H.S.SCHOOL AALO ,also be acknowledge by our GALO society for contineously producing the talented students in the entrance inspite of lack of facilites and other hardship.
In the meantime the GWS or Galo student union should organise a career counselling or college information centre for those successful candidates.
Many a time due to wrong choice of subject or even wrong college leads to a bright students a hard and difficult college life .There are many cases of incomplete or late completion of medical and engineering course due to wrong choice of the college.
Therefore,college information cell with variety of information regarding locations,structures,facilities,acadamic,fes,environment,future prospect for PG/JOB,security etc etc will be helpul for our pre-college GALO student.

for me..all are good, and i am proud to be a galo and my cultur and festival, any way i hate thosse who doesnt celebrte “MOPIN” its our identity yaa..

i ve seen most of our PHC r working with sort of doctor. like in ma place the phc r without mbbs doc. it is now run by a homeopathic doc. so i want to know in which field r we lacking.????
1 is it due to failure of our doc, they dont want to work in rural.
2 or its due to the managing system who fail to provide the opportunity to our young doc..

yes, you r right,still many PHC are vacant in our state or run by HOMOEO OR AYUSH,Whereas in itaport Dispensary there are more than 7 doctors,In many place some are just attached themselves in near PHC or even Subcenter,near district or capital just to avoid emergency duty.we called them non functioning doctor.
There is no proper implementation of transfer policy.No body bother to go to outpost which is mandatary for all.To encourage the rural posting Govt has made 3 years mandatory rural posting for sponsoring PG Seats ,that also some of our doctors manupulate and produce the rural posting certificate.
Even our politicians are interested to cancelled the rotatory transfer of doctors for their political or social relationship.
Many a time group transfer happens but no body follows.Once our health ministers said at Aalo that Doctors are the the most difficult person to manage in this world.upto some extend he is right.
There should be compulsory rural posting for all Newly appointed DOCTORS and PERIOD of posting should be rotated uniformely to all irrespective of political backing and so on.But now the scenirio is othe way.
But we enjoy rural posting too, a part from handling many complicated cases in rural,we learn many other things like administration,coordinate the various national programmes,medico legal cases,inter-seectoral coordination,how to response public emergency like epidemic and other disaster which we dont learn in general hospital or district.
So we should serve in rural area at least for some years,There is the inner satisfaction when you really treat the suffering in rural area and the human bond are more in rural area which is the sweatest part of the rural posting,
So we should encourage our younger doctors to experience the rural service.
otherwise we need strong administrator or policy maker who can really impliment the uniform distribution of our doctor as per requirement.

but dr ori i ve seen many of our passed out senior eager to work in rural area. i ve seen em joining the hospital run by NGO..but still i wonder why our govt fail to provide job to those doc. the scenrio in our state is something very nauseating.. even in NGOs the salary is very less. nd the govt fail to provide job… so they think it better to work somewhere where they provide good salary nd with comfort life..jus take eg delhi nd even in itanagar..so in that case we cant blame the doc…
i wish our govt are smart enough to maintain a proper vigilance about the health facilities.. a least they shud not play with the health of our people..
D/jarkar, u wont believe that our govt has procured 3 CT SCAN, That too against Roing DH,Miao pHC & Ruksin PHC, World will laugh on us or it will be Genius record in the world that phc has got CT scan facilites whereas many of our DH is not having even proper functioning Ultrasonography/ X RAYS facilites,
People alleged that TOY for them was purchased by the then cm mithi,health minister NGEMU,MOS Health by DR Tapak for their respective places.
more than 3 crors machine is just lying in the store rusting may be spoil by now, whereas many of our people have to go to GWAHATI or RKMH FOR ct scan.
It is not only mokery of the system but also insult to the great machine.
At least if they installed in GH NLG or pasighat or AALO it would have been functioning by now.
This is the scenerio in our department.UNFORTUNATELY only few people who does not know the ABCD Of machine have to decide what or where to procure in our system and they do not bother to asked to Even doctor or specialist who is going to use it.
Any way what we can do? Our senior all know it but no body voice against it.
How ever we can get one for our district too.
The GWS were following the file of our AALO DISTRICT hospital to be upgraded to GENERAL HOSPITAL,what is the status now ? we wanted to know,,if u happen to go to our DIECTOR office please find out the file and expedidate it,and Dr Tojum lollen deputy director will be knowing the status.Becouse unless some medical people keep on tracking the file it will end up in dustbin. pLEASE do it for us and our own people if you have time.

Yesterdays incident is unfortunate and the uncallled for. Law enforcement authority has shown
their reality.Culprits must be booked for exemplary punishment.Police have no right to murder any body. This is too much….No words to condemn such acts.We all citizen of Arunachal Pradesh particularly..GWS member must join hands to bring the culprits behind the bar…We pray for departed soul rest in peace.
OC Mehra has no respect for locals and he has only contempt for us.
He is only interested in defending nyipaks. in yesterdays incident he told CRPF ” apna mardangi dikha, inhe maaro’ when ordering firing on public.
when beating nyishi doctor recently he said ” tumhare jaise tribal doctors hamare udhar sweeper kaam karte hain”
even the marwari who attempted to shoot the nyishi doctor said” hum bahut tribal paal ke rakha hai”
do we locals have no self respect? all we do is teach our kids hindi and become 2nd class indians. first we must get out OC mehra. then maybe change ” Arunachal” to a local name to begin with

magistrate enquire has been ordered. (just to show that they are concerned for public grievances.)
all this could have been done . . . even without public pressure.

Ideas is not bad however,practically will be difficult to unite and consensus on uniformamity of any rituals,customs ,festivals and other social rules and regulations of TANI SOCIETY.
Yes,some years back some of my friends were also working out to preserve the orgin of ABO TANI and trying to pass on younger generation about its geneology etc.They were suggesting to suffix or preffix the word TANI in there own NAME as TANI JEGO ORI,TANI TANA TARA,TANI MICHI TAGYA ETC TO MARK the respect and orgin of TANI,That idea was also not bad but could not work out due to various reasons.
For GALOS we have unique nature of naming the children which is only of its kind in the world,
The other TANI GROUP donot have this system,
SPECIALLY NYISI TRIBE they have kumar,raja dodum ,sanjoy tana,indira,rajive etc,so it will be like TANI RAJA DODUM, will be more confusion .
Any way lets TANI AO to decide, which is best.
@Jumi: Nothing to worry! Our Galo society is liberal enough to accomodate and assimilate brides and grooms of other community also.
There must be dozens of Galo guys who have married Apatanis and from other tribes.
As long as both you and your girlfriend is willing to adjust and bear with each other.

I don’t know why our Galo brethrens are using this website for their faulty words exchange centre. I think the inception of launching this website was to educate, quick information abot the wolrd, update knowledge especially about Galos & its affairse, share our benevolent views for the construction of the community, etc. But very often I come across that many abussive language has been used to hurt other’s sentiment, and feelings through this; in the name community, religion, organization, etc.
I feel that those pages should be omit from the website without any notice.
Another concern is regarding Karbi’s page about OC Mehra? Who is this OC Mehra? Is he the dictator of all Tribal people, especially AP? Does he knows about the meaning and Background of Tribal? I feel that not only GWS, all the local organization especially AAPSU, GSU, ANSU and other should take stern action against him.
When we happen to go to central part of India if we happened to used such kind of derogatory language in today’s context does they’ll allow me to live? even not single hour!!! we are discriminated, oppressed in our own home and ironically we can’t take disciplinary action to such rogue officer. I’m not abetting anyone to commit criminal act but in justice means.
Another concern, when I came across the book called “Understanding Tribal Religion,” edited by Tamo Mibang and Sarit Chauduri, Published by Mittal publications, in one article I came across the term called “Tanavas” attributed to the progeny of Abo Tani (Galo, Nishi, Apatani, Tagin and Minyong). Again writer goes on to say that, In the hindu Puranas Tanavas are called Dhanav. So far my knowledge is concern Manu the Hindu law giver wrote about human evolution in two categories: 1. Manav Jaat means Human being and
2. Dhanav Jaat means monster, cannibal, Satan, in hindi called it Rakshas.
And unfortunately he writes descendant of Abo Tani are called Tanvas means “Dhavav”. If Abo Tani was Human being than we are not Rakshas and this is 100% pejorative term in against of Abo Tani’s progeny.
Its my mind boogling thought. Plase do the needful concern for the community.
