Itanagar, August 13: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen JJ Singh has extended festival greetings to the all Arunachalee in general and to the Hindu brethren in particular on the festive occasion of Janmastami and reiterated his hope that the vibrant and joyous festival will strengthen the communal harmony and oneness in the society, reports PRO to Governor.

Gen Singh, in his message said, “Janmastami, indicate the birth ceremony of Lord Krishna. The verses in the Bhagavad-Gita say, that whenever there will be predominance of evil and decline of religion, I will reincarnate to kill the evil and to save the good. Hence, the main significance of Janmashtami is to encourage goodwill and to discourage bad will. It is also celebration of togetherness as the sacred occasion brings people together. As such, it is a festival whose values are shared by all faith traditions and communities”.
May the spirit of this unique special occasion further strengthen the fraternal feelings in our society and remind us of the importance of unity as we strive collectively for the well-being of our people, he added.
