Tapi Mra gearing up to conquer 4th highest peak of the world

ITANAGAR, Feb 11: Tapi Mra, first Arunachalee Everester has already reached Tanzania in African continent on Feb 10 in order to climb the fourth highest peak of the world, Mt. Kilimanjaro, which is the highest peak of African continent standing at 19,431 ft.

He is now in Moshi town of Tanzania which is nearest to the Mt. Kilimanjaro and expected to climb the peak on Feb 15 or 16 of this month.

This is the fourth mountaineering expedition of Tapi Mra. The first one was Island peak expedition in Nepal on April 24, 2007, 2nd the Meera Peak Expedition, Nepal on June 20, 2008 and the third one was the Mt. Everest Expedition which he climbed on May 21, 2009.

Now Mra is planning to climb the World’s seven highest peaks of all the seven continent provided he gets sponsorships. Mt. Kilimanjaro being one of the seven peaks, next one is Mt. Alaska in North America which is scheduled in June 2010. There after he will attempt Mt. Elbrus of Europe in the last week of September this year. And in next year he will attempt the rest of the peaks.

It is worth mentioning here that Chowna Mein, Minister PHED, Nabum Ribia, Parliamentary secretary (Industry), Bosiram Siram, Education Minister, R.T.Khunjuju Parliamentary secretary (Hydropower), Er. Kenjum Ete Chief Engineer(P&D) PWD and Hotel Blue Pine, Itanagar contributed through Opey Foundation, Ziro for successful expedition.

Setong Sena Minister Finance, Er. Anong Perme Chief Engineer (Power) EZ, Tawang Tours and Travels, Mr. Sunil John, Arunachal Bhawan, New Delhi had also voluntarily come forward and contributed for the cause. Meanwhile, Taro Opey Foundation, Ziro extended sincere thanks to the contributors and appealed everyone to pray for the success of Tapi Mra.
